i remembet when you could look at a car from a distance and tell what make it was.now they all look the same.low in the front and high and bunched up in the back.when a caddie had fins.now japan and germany tell us how an american car should look, and we are dumb enough to buy them. MY biggest peve, the millitary going to the 9mm round."DUMB".if they had to go with berreta they should have insisted on one in 45acp.8 or 10 rounds in 45 acp beat the hell out of any 9mm. i am sticking with my colt 1911.

gotta agree with you. special ops has quioetly gone back to specialy modified 45's. Laps SWAT carries 45 kimbers. as for cars they all loke like jelly beans including mercedes, except for the retro's like mustang, camaro challenger. bring bacl the 59 cadilac eldorado in coral pink with a mile of chrome tail fins and elvis in the passenger seat for a road trip to VEGAS baby!!!!

I spent a lot of time in the Phillipines. Anyway to make a long story short. I talked to a historian. He told me that during the Phillipine war in Mindinou That the US marines using a .38 super could not knock down a Moro that had his chest wrapped up in vines, (jungle armor). The army put out the word for the need for a pistol to have knock down power and be able to operate in mud and rain. Thus the development of the 1911. Also the rifles they used at the time were the 30 40 kraig. didn't work very well either, so they went back to the old .45-70 used in the Indian wars.

Nothing Knocks 'em down like a .45,(and keeps them down!)

Although, my .357 Colt Python is a beast. Slightly smaller mass with faster velocity. KaBoom! Either way, they don't get up.....Ever!

Shot placement is also a key factor in getting the job done. I haven't been hunting in over 20 years. But back in the day. Growing up in the country meant being a good shot was the difference between having dinner or going hungry.
As a kid, I've taken over a dozen deer with a .22 single shot. And never wounded any. One shot, one kill. Had to make the ammo last.

That's how I was taught. With a "single-shot" .22LR

The semi wad-cutter will knock something down. Shrooms out pretty good too.
