Hello,
I'm looking for a very inexpensive point & shoot camera that still has some life left in it ... anything 7.2 mp and up.
I want to get my granddaughter started early; she seems to have an interest and I want to foster it.
Thanks so much,
Kathy

Very inexpensive can be a very ambiguous term. However, if you're in the $200.00 range, the Canon SX50 refurb is a bargain now for around $230.00 from Canon. I just got mine and love it.

Go to the local pawn shop they have all kinds of used, excellent shape cameras and they usually give a 30 day Guarantee.

You're absolutely right, I should have been more specific. I'm looking around the $25 range ... a camera that someone may consider putting on Craigslist if they have more than one, older technology is fine.
My granddaughter is 3 yrs old so I'm looking at an inexpensive option that would go on top of a tripod for her to view then shoot. She uses my camera whenever we're together but I'd rather she has something of her own.
Thanks for helping me to see I should have been more specific in my request.

John, good suggestion. I will check out a pawn shop in the area. Thank you.
I have a Sony DSC-W330 point and shoot that I no longer use. It worked great, but I bought a Canon SX50 for birding and haven't used the Sony since. If you're interested, PM me through UHH.
I have got three for less than $20 for kid cameras on eBay and all have worked fine. Dave

I have a Coolpix 4500 Nikon, I'll sell you for 150.00.

Thanks Dave. In fact, after I posted this ad I went onto eBay and found a nice 'kid camera' that I'd feel comfortable paying for and placed a bid. I'll see if I get the camera when the bidding is over on Friday.

Thanks for your reply; I'm looking for something much less though. My budget for a 3 year old is $25.
Kathy - Here is how I bid on eBay. I bookmark the item and wait until the last 30 sec to be. I will be all set up for the bid and then punch the button. I will bid the most I would pay for the item like $25 even it is at $5. Your bid will just go to the next step not the $25 unless it goes that high. This does two things for you. 1 you will not be tempted to bid more than you set your top bid. and 2. Will not give others time to think and outbid you. - Dave

Sounds like a good plan, Dave. So you must be around then for the bid to end? I wish the camera had a Buy Now option but the one I'm hoping for doesn't.
I have an Insignia that I will send you if you will pay the shipping. It has auto just about everything and is just what you need. Send a PM and I will be glad to send you this camera and tell you a good story as well!! :) I'll give you more specifics about the camera too if you are the least bit interested.
Thank you everyone for your input or offers. What a great group of photography friends we have out there on UHH.
I've accepted an offer of a camera from a fellow UHH'er and am looking forward to spending time with my granddaughter teaching her and seeing the enjoyment she gets as she snaps away photos of her dogs, cat and eventually her new baby brother or sister that's on the way.
Kathy
