Yesterday afternoon at Garretson Pond, I photographed this wigeon which looks like a Eurasian wigeon on the front half and Northern pintail on the back half:

I'm awaiting word from bird experts whether this is a possibility or common - never noticed one like this before.

Thanks - the water drops were what I first noticed - then saw that the coloration of the head suggested Eurasian instead of American wigeon, and the back end resembled a Northern pintail as much or more than a wigeon.

Would that be a wigtail or a pineon?

Thanks, Sirius.

I love Garretson Point pond, because the dabbling ducks are often pretty close, and late afternoon light is really sweet there.
