Scanner Art

This photo did not come from a camera. It is a scan of paper daisies done on a flatbed scanner. This will probably have the purists yelling at me but the end result was a photo that I like, and it was fun to do. I would like to see any other images created in this method. I welcome your comments.

Yes, I've done this too, but of course the scanner lid would
press down on my subject. So, my husband painted the inside of a shirt box black which I now put over whatever I'm scanning, and it works perfectly, and I just leave the scanner lid open. Also, if I want a different background, I just put a piece of colored paper in the box bottom, and that too works great! Fun! Annette

Great thinking! I used to use my scanner for small photos when I was working as a graphic designer. Very nice job!!!

The photo that I posted was done with the scanner lid open completely but I like your method. Post some of your photos.

I'll look up some of my photos and will send them. In the meantime, another thing that I do is put a straight pin thru the box top, then insert the stem of a flower onto it, and you will not get that distorted, pressed look. Annette
