I got a new HTC Rezound last month and wanted to test out the capabilities of the video camera. Check out video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9grQG4e24xsThere are plenty of tests that show raw footage, but we wanted to show its potential. It was filmed using the rear-facing and front-facing cameras with the contrast all the way down, the saturation down 1, and with the white balance on Daylight (not auto). Once it was all captured, we edited it in Premiere Pro and color graded it in After Effects.
The color was pretty good, not a crazy amount of noise (we did do noise removal on a couple shots, but not over the whole video), it has a decent dynamic range (nowhere near that of a DSLR), and has a decent microphone.
It's a great camera, especially for being on a phone, but we did have a couple negatives with it. Even though the camera is capable of 1080p and we limited the video to 720p, but the frame rate never reached 24fps. It usually was in the 20s, just not 23.976+. The other issue was that you can't lock in an exposure, which often leads to flickering. You can tweak Ev (exposure value), but it will still automatically determine the exposure and adjust it from there. The problem is that it's contrast-based, so there's lots of flickering if you're moving around or have back lighting of any sort.
Bottom line, we won't be giving up our T3i DSLR or our H200 camcorder for this, but would definitely use it in a pinch and maybe for it's front-facing capabilities.

It's amazing what they are doing with these things.
It really is! We live in exciting times for photographers and videographers...and fauxtographers and videofakers, lol.
