Thought I would get shots of the falls before it warms up here in Minnesota. Possible high 40's next week.

Looks like a miniature Niagara Horse shoe Falls. Nice pictures.

I like it. It fascinates me that waterfalls can actually freeze. Pretty neat stuff.

Wow, that really would make me want to walk on down closer. Great shots they are (going back to the 60's), neat!

The steps going down to the falls are closed off. People still go around them. There is running water under the ice below the falls.

Were you able to climb up and get behind the ice. The MPRB is said to be on the lookout for those who try. There is a special ice shoe strap-on to keep from slipping.

From the top. There is a walkway bridge across the Minnehaha Creek at the top of the falls.

When I was a kid we used to scramble under the ledge all the time, though not so much in the winter. That would have been the late 1930s to early 1940s when the what-you-can't-do rules were pretty much just-on-paper-in-someones-office.
