My question is has anyone used this lens or currently own one? If so would you post some pictures taken with this lens? I have all but made up my mind but so far haven't been able to get one in my hands. Any comments would be helpful.

I had one for about a month. Very sharp lens. I returned it because I felt that it being 11-16 mm that I could not tell much difference shooting at 11mm verses 16mm. In a way I wish that I had kept it. I replaced it with a Tokina 12-24mm f4. If you are looking to buy a wide angle lens you can't go wrong with either.
I purchased the 11-16 at a local camera store but the 12-24 I purchased from Adorama. Price of both were very close to each other. I think the 12-24 was a little less.

Thanks for your reply, I guess the best thing for me to do is wait till one comes in locally to check out.
Again thanks for the quick reply

Your welcome !! I paid $699.00 for the 11-16mm f2.8 and $634.00 for the 12-24mm f4. Happy hunting and yes it would be best for you to get your hands on one to try it for yourself rather than to rely on someone else opinion.
I have had the Tokina 116 Pro DX f/2.8 for a little over a year. This is an excellent lens. I use it on my NIKON D200.....a perfect match. It does take some getting used to shooting w/ a wide angle lens and I'm still learning but this Tokina is NOT the issue. I use the range of 11 - 16 more for framing that a difference in magnification. You should read up on articles that suggest how best to shoot w/ wide angles, i.e. something of interest in the foreground, and, getting in close to the subject.

Thanks for the imput The dealer that carries them gives them high marks. Now I am waiting for them to come in.
I have a D7000 --- also looking at wide angle -- are you better off with a fixed focal length or a zoom? ---- ultra wide / wide -- if fixed what is best focal length?

This is an excellent lens, fast and sharp. I have no problem with the limited range because of other lenses both prime and soon that I have. Unfortunately, travel between summer and winter residences and have no pictures with me. Plan on doing some wildflower shoots with mountains in background. This is a great lens for something like that.
