Just a quick question, anyone buy a D-750 recently it seems everyone is out of stock and I'm ready to take the full frame plunge . I called Nikon and they told me there is some kind of a problem that needs to be addressed. I went to best buy last night to purchase the camera they told me they had two in stock but could not release them.........

Yeah, they are on recall because of a sensor situation.

There was a minor problem that might have shown up in unique situations. Yes I'm having a bit of fun there. The 750 if used in a situation where you were attempting to introduce flare into a photograph by shooting towards the sun, or other point source of light, at a particular combination of angle, light source and luck, a narrow band caused by an internal reflection would show up in the 'flare'. I'm guessing that Nikon rather than face a PR nightmare like the D600 problem decided to recall the camera and address the issue. (that 99% of users would never encounter.)

from what I've seen ,that little flare can be taken out very easy in PP .Just something else for people to complain about.

Nikon is pulling back all D750 stock from dealers to make the fix, that why supply is unavailable.

It's not a sensor issue.

For the record, no flair with mine, no matter how many ways I try to create the situation reported to create the banding.

Me neither and I have an early model as I pre-ordered the 750 back in September from B&H. Unless Nikon does a complete recall and full replacement of the camera with a new one (and unless I see this "problem" in my own unit) I doubt that I will send my camera in for any fix that Nikon comes up with. The dpreview.com testing found the flare shadow banding in several bodies both Nikon and Canon so to me this is a problem which is inherent in varying levels in full frame bodies.

Same with mine and I have tried to replicate. Seems like much ado about nothing

From what I understand, it's a subtle problem that only occurs when there is a lens flare. If your trying to use lens flare as a compositional tool, then there is something unpleasant about the shape of the flair. When the camera is pointed into the sun or a bright light it might occur, on some cameras.

Since one usually tries to avoid lens flare, by using hoods, etc, this is indeed a minor problem.

Some cameras are affected, and some aren't.

You mean the sun out of the frame.
Also, Hood lenses do not mitigate the issue fully.
Because the sun needs to be out of frame and in a thigh angle.
