Single shot with 8" SCT
f/10
2800mm
Light pollution filter
1.3 second
ISO 200

Cleaned in Lightroom 5.7.1
Need to figure out my RegiStax software and stack some of tonights images.
The red spot was transiting for quite a long time last night.
Lovejoy was behind my house by the time I was able to setup and shoot so opted for the easy bright spot.
;)

YES, to get contrast of Jupiter and 4 Moons is a feat.
Good job Jim.
Craig
I have no experience with RegiStax, I have the App. So I'm no help. Please post and explain the process???

Thanks, it was a great viewing night last night. I wish tonight had been as clear.

If I ever get it to run without giving me a memory error.
Thank you for the compliment. The moons came forward with a touch of clarity in Lightroom 5.7.1
I was more excited about the great red spot. Sky and Telescope gave me the heads up about that transition.

Absolutely the Great Red Spot is really thrilling and pretty well defined too.

While waiting for Lovejoy to move further West, I played with Jupiter and the light filter again.
Another night of red spot traveling across.

Tonights Jupiter with Red Spot again.

Fiddled and tweaked my columniation and was rewarded with this shot.
EOS 7D
SCT 11" with 2X Barlow
f/10
ISO 200
Lightroom to remove some noise, remove color cast from filter and to crop.
Still have not been able to get a stack.

Now you're cooking with Gas Jim this is the way I'd like to be able to shoot.
The Barlow gives a little Color Aberration but that doesn't bother me.
Do you have any Lenses you can use for Afocal Photos?
Just wondering because I have one, a 17mm, I'll be trying on Jupiter.

My afocal adapter is for 1.25" eyepieces and I've been shooting with 2" er's,
Plus the light pollution filter is a 2 incher.
Thanks for the compliment. I reshimmed my front plate and its focusing much better.
