Hope the cop gets sued for false arrest.

From what I saw, the videographer was cooperative while the one officer in particular was overly aggressive. I can see this video going viral in short term.

I haven't bothered watching the video.
But Welcome to the New World Order.
And please don't look my way, I have voted against every part of today's Government for decades and decades.

And... it is only going to get worse. :hunf:

Ocean County police officers are notorious for consisting predominantly of unintelligent bullies. I stay clear of them as much as possible.

The Ansel Adams Act is now moving it's slow way through congress. It is designed to end this sort of thing. You can read it here.

An example of why people hate or begin to hate cops. I hope the Ansel Adams Act passes and puts a stop to this unconstitutional violation of individual rights and unjust seizures and arrests.

Believe me, my name has been on file my whole life.
I'm just too small of a fish to bother with.
And I've been on the Internet since before Al Gore invented it.
BTW, don't look in the mirror, everything of yours is theirs as well. ;)

LEO's make their own images of the scene, why do they want this photog's images? When I am on scene with LEO's that is getting media attention, I avoid being in camera view. My main role as a chaplain is to help those affected by the incident and this is usually done out of view of the scene. This is strange that this LEO is threatening arrest of the photog. He needs a refresher on what the law is and how to enforce it. I never photograph scenes like this, I am too busy with more important issues.

I had trouble hearing it but it sounded to me like the cop gave in when the man refused. The man handled it right. I'd not give them my camera unless they got a warrant. I'd also tell them they could arrest me. But then I'm retired and have the time for such shenanigans.

I've only had one simiilar case wher a cop asked me what I was doing while similarly photographing an accident scene. I told her it was none of her business and she went away.

The text indicates that the prosecutor said there would be no charges and he got his camera back. The more interesting part for me is. did the prosecutor than go to the Police Chief and ask him to inform his officers of what the law is so that another incident like this isn't repeated. My guess, probably not. It's a vicious circle we're in, all done purposely, I believe.

Yes, the article seemed a bit out of whack with what I thought I heard on the tape. But then that is more usual than not with the media.

Actually, the 1st Amendment was designed to end this sort of thing. Also AG Holder's memo to the Baltimore PD on this subject. In general, I support law enforcement personnel, but when they get it willfully wrong, as I suspect is the case here, they should get the message in the most forceful manner.
