I wanted a smallish strong ball head so I ordered the FLM CB-32F from B&H for $125. It is rated for 44 lbs and trying it out I believe it. It does not have a clap on it but can be used as it is, or like I did order a inexpensive clap from ebay. FLM makes their own specialty clap but more money than I want to spend. It is made in Germany and typical of German high quality.
I post this because maybe a lot of photo buffs don't know of this maker. I would not hesitate to buy any of their products after looking at this one.

Great product, I spent all morning looking at ball heads and youtube videos about ball head I cant get enough.

I'm thinking of getting the next size up, a CB 38. Their clamps are on the expensive side but you can get one without the clamp and pick your own. They sell different styles of their brand if you like. BTW I like your Springer, I had a 2002 Heritage Springer.
