Makes sense to me. Beer is safer to drink than water down in Mexico.

We have an old horse that the kids used to feed root beer to I don't know who enjoyed the experience more.

Being a humane horse owner I can certainly tell you if that horse could talk he is not happy. The cruel headgear-cable cutting into the top of his nose and excessively long shanks to provide more leverage (= cable digging into nose harder). I guess I have no sense of humor, but this is just ignorant people doing something they think is "cute" to an animal. Pouring a liquid above the nostrils down a horses nose is not comfortable for the horse. They are pretty much forced to "drink" it at that point. Of course it is a lot nicer than what they do to Bulls. Photos are art, and many will enjoy this, but this is one I would not linger at.

I've never owned a horse, but being born and raised in Tn, I know about horse abuse. Tennessee Walking Horses are abused every day so that their owners can 'win' a horse competition. Their legs are 'sored', with chemicals so that they will step higher.

The entire practice is disgusting and the state govt. gives little more than lip service to do something about it because it is the politicians' doners that own most of the horses.

And add that to to the fact that way too many here think required spaying and keeping one's pets constrained in a humane way(fenced back yards) is a threat to their 'freedoms', and we have one of the highest incidences of dog pregancies, abuse, and neglect. The shelters are overrun and the dogs are dumped weekly on our road.

You are so correct and there is abuse in many horse "sports", not just walkers. People do a huge disservice to their animals by letting them run free.
