My wife told me there was a bobcat in our back yard this morning.
It hung around long enough to give me time to get my camera and get out in the back yard to get some photos.
Most of these were shot at ISO 3200.

Yeah, one look at those paws and i knew this wasn't a house cat.

Nice capture - it looks pretty calm for you being out there taking photos - it must be used to humans.
Curious, are you in city, suburbs, country, or mountain cabin?
How cool is that! They're pretty elusive, aren't they, and you got several pics before he elused. By the way, I assume that you weren't out there in the yard were you?
What a wonderful opportunity, and great captures. That is one beautiful cat. I'd love to have the chance to see one.

I could get within about fifteen feet of it before it moved away from me.
We're on the western edge of the city of Boulder, up against the Front Range. The city had to mandate bear-proof trash containers because Dept. of Wildlife had to put down five black bears last year that were raiding trash bins for food.
Although bears are pretty common in the fall and spring, looking for food, and raccoons are a constant nuisance, this is the first time I have seen or heard of a bobcat. We have also had mountain lions spotted in our neighborhood, but they tend to keep a very low profile.
Please watch out for your pets, that's a great series of shots, the cat really has a thick winter coat going on.
What an amazing set! Great shots of a very difficult subject. We have them here in PA but I've not had the pleasure of seeing one.
