For landscape work, what combo (camera and lens) would you purchase? Max budget $3500-4000. Bridge cameras and superzooms need not apply.

Any brand, any focal length (zoom or prime).

Ready, go.

Ol' Frank Loc: Orlando,

Check out the Nikon D7000 that is offered on the internet. Add a Sigma or Tamron in the area of 15-250 lens and you are good to go and still have enough money left over to go play somewhere nice. I did and will.

Listed in order of preference

D810, D800E or D800 for the body.
For handheld verticals, get the grip.

14-24 f2.8 or 24-70 f2.8 or 16-35 f4

The problem with the 14-24 is mounting filters due to the fixed hood. If you use GNDs its not as easy as most other lenses.

OM-D E-M1, for now with the 12-40mm PRO lens, after tomorrow will be trying 25mm f/1.8 lens.
Oh, and then only if the fog lifts - been socked in for 3 or 4 days now, and the promise is that it will leave in the next few days.

;-)

I'll leave it at that.

As for the 25 1.8, you'll love that little gem. It's been compared to the Panasonic 1.4 version, and I absolutely love it for landscape work.

Back to the poll.

Then don't reply if you can't answer the question.
