Laugh if you will but he's probably right. Here we are in the 21st Century with a host of problems and the debate is over whether gay people should be allowed to get married and if women should be forced to get transvaginal ultrasounds. That may play to the Republican base but in a general election they're losers.
What happened to,"It's the economy stupid!".
I also agree with him that you're going to see a third party that will take the position of the republican moderates which will most likely outnumber the extremes on both the left and right.

Laugh if you will but he's probably right. Here ... (show quote)

You could very well be right. A party of moderate republicans could attract some conservative democrats and become a power house.

they are talking about the economy, its the leftist media like commie news network (cnn) or pravda (newswek) that are doing their puppet masters dictates to get the attention off Barry's mangelling of the economy and the high gas prices. Being obident to the wordd of God is never wrong. abortion and homosexuality is as much an abomination today as slavery was in the 1800's.

I was taught that the reason God allowed evil to exist in the the world was because he wanted people to choose to be good, not be good because good is all there was. It seems to me that those who wish to create laws forcing people to do good are going against God's wishes.

Rudy is a New Yorker as am I and we have a different view of the world. In the midwest he might be a liberal democrat but in New York he's a moderate. I'm not saying we're right or wrong but we are noticeably different.

I hear ya, I guess if I could find a political party that represented me there'd be probably ten of us. Oh well such is the way of the world, but then it's not the world I'm trying to please, although it sure would make things easier. LOL

The things we need to do in this country have more to do with solid values than a deep understanding of technology and many of the democrats do not know much either. They do not understand the constitution or world history. They are as clueless as the GOP

I know that very few GOP members could have programmed the first computer or fixed the latest Marchant Calculator so if they are complaining about our lack of understanding of how tech or how the world in general works, all I can say is physician, heal thyself.

I remember Senator Hatch and his plan to have us install software that would wipe our disk drives if this magical SW discovered illegal IP. Or something like that. Then he discovered he had illegal stuff on his computer. I know he did not buy the PC or set it up yet he talked about how his office was so tech savvy.

Too many youngsters make the claim I am just an old fart and perhaps a Luddite. Fact is, I am old and only 67.6% Luddite. Then I tell them I helped build the beginnings of portable mobile communications devices and they shut up. Then they laugh and post to Facebook about this crazy old man they just met.

I believe Rudy is correct. I'm hugely conservative on economic issues and moderate on social issues. I believe there are many like me. Society is changing. You can fight it but it's a loosing battle.

It's just horrible that politicians are fighting over issues that ultimately won't matter if we collapse. No way around it. Massive reforms to medicare and social security. It's either that or collapse. Whose got the coconuts? Nobody currently seeking election.

I've never heard this reasoning before but it is stunning in its simple yet profound message. Thank you for sharing.
