Cold-hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?

Pinprick holes in a colourless sky,
Let insipid figures of light pass by.
The mighty light of ten thousand suns,
Challenges infinity and is soon gone.
Nighttime, to some, a brief interlude,
To others, the fear of solitude.

Brave Helios wake up your steeds,
Bring the warmth the countryside needs.

"Moody Blues" huh, and no I didn't recognize it, I looked it up. I was into Herb Alpert, Country, Blue Grass other stuff that year, I was also in Vietnam the whole year so I heard what armed forces radio played or the USO acts that hit the EM/ Jr NCO club performed.

Our theme song was "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" just about every act that played did a version of that song.

The positioning of the house, or should I say the overall symmetrical position of the house in relation to the trees is excellent.
Well taken and processed, I like it.

A song a song, my vision of a song--oh well I loved the photo and did not recognize the lyrics, too old I guess.

While you were in Nam, I was riding U.S. Navy ships in the Mediterranean, facing the Ruskies Jerry. The Animals were one of my favorite groups so I am well aware of the popularity of "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." I even have .mp3's of most of their hits.

Thanks for the comment Leicaflex. If it weren't for the house this image would have lacked a decided center of focus.

Jim, do you think this is another iteration of the "Dark Side"?

Thank you Emm. Unlike a reverse-silhouette, this actually has subtle layers of tones which impart the detail. I really like this style.

Now that is a good point and very well might be. Whatever we call it, I really like it.

Love the photo, love the poem. Did you write it? If not who did?

Corolyn, these are the lyrics to the opening song of the Moody Blues Album, "Days of Future Pased". It was accredited to Redwave/Knight.

It was written by the Moody Blues drummer Graeme Edge. He wrote almost all of the words to their recordings.

Moody Blues my favorite, is this an IR photo? The tree lines draw me right into the house. There is a grandness and mystery that match your quote.
