Having always been interested in photography since high school and only taking photos as snapshots until a couple years ago.
as with anything else when you get serious about a hobby, you read and try to educate yourself!!!
AND this is why I love UHH!!!
a lot of fellow people here interested in what I am interested in, and some very smart people willing to help you become a better photographer!!! to you, I say thank you......
NOW!! this brings me to why I hate UHH!!
the more I "read" here , the more I "learn", the more "classes" I take, the more "pictures" I take..
the more I find out
""THE LESS I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"" and to UHH and its patrons , I thank you for that also!!!!!!
OK.... all better now, time for more coffee
Damn, Bill! I could have written this. I took my first picture over fifty five years ago and I'm still trying to figure out what questions to ask. :) Ain't it fun! And isn't the cumulative knowledge of the Hoggs awesome.

Bill,
Great comments, and it all boils down to a fine Stew, the more you learn, the more you know what you don't know. What makes UHH one of the unique resources to photographers is the wide range of knowledge and experience available. Capturing a scene with a digital device and displaying the scene for others to view is one aspect of UHH, another is the wealth of knowledge supporting all the other devices with digital photography; this keyboard for instance.
Decades ago, when I was involved with the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), computer programmers and experimenters shared experiences and support much like we do here on UHH. Then it was over a dedicated copper wire, and we enjoyed the sudden closeness of active support and sharing of information.
Enjoy the camaraderie shared in UHH, and be sure to filter the chaff from the fruits in this pot of stew.
