I know these could be better but they are my first attempts at moving objects with the new camera.
Good start....practice makes perfect. I too have more learning to do with my new one before i go to the nhra race next year there.
They look good! And congrats on the win :)

Thanks. I remember your pictures from the race last year. I live right here and I've never been to the track. I like this camera a lot. So far every picture I've taken has been pretty good.

Thanks Linda. They are pretty noisy at 100% but I was just using the sport setting so I sort of expected that with the higher ISO and no flash.
Hi Diana. Sorry but I don't remember the equipment you are using. Please let us know.

Dianakkb--These are are very sharp and the color is excellent. I plan to do some basketball shots of our grandson. Would you mind telling us the brand of your new camera and the lens you were using? Thank you.
Good white balance and a nice action capture on the second photo and you are doing well in a very demanding venue and sport. You are on your way, kudos Diana. ;)
It looks to me like grandpa and grandson are both winners.

These are nice. I was amazed at how difficult basketball can be. I whot our High School team last year. I used an 85mm lens. The problem is that the light is not as good as you would think it will be. So, in order to get the faster shutter speeds; I had to shoot wide open all the time and that costs dof. Took me quite a while to figure it out.

Sure. I wanted a smaller camera, easier to carry around so I bought a Sony NEX-5T. Not new in the line-up but I got a display model at a very good price. I like it so far. I was looking at the Sony a5000, a5100, and the a6000 until I saw this one. The price made the difference for me.
