Here are a few test shots with my new 100-400 L II lens. Some of them
I tried out with my 1.4XIII extender, it worked very well.
Some times before I go to shoot eagles, I go and limber up my shoulder
and tracking skills on the local gulls. I really like the new 100-400L over
the old one, it is a lot better in many ways. I will try it with a tripod in
the future. Enjoy, mdh

Thank you and I hope I can learn to use them for quite awhile. I know
it isn't all in the equipment but having it sure helps. I couldn't get these
when I had my kit lens. mdh

I love the uniqueness of the first one.

Thank you, there was a foggy mist over the lake and I didn't know if
I could shoot through it. I would have lost this shot with my regular
7D due to the noise it would have picked up. Thanks for looking. mdh

So you are saying the 1.4 III extender will auto focus on flying shots with the new 100-400 mm II lens. Thanks

Morris, nice work! What aspects of the new 100-400 II do you find as improvements? I am interested in getting a copy but would like more user info. I have the Sigma 120-300 2.8 S and really like it, but it is so darn heavy (7.8 pounds). Any feedback would help...thanks and continued great shooting!

It is about the same weight as the old 100-400L but it is Sharper, Faster
and has a turn zoom instead of the push pull. It will work fast and as
sharp focus at f/8 with the 1.4X III extender on it as the old 100-400L did without it.
For what I have done with it so far it is well worth the difference in price
of the two. With the extender and a 7DMK II you get 560mm of focal length. mdh
