Which one to print...
My friend Joe celebrated his 70th birthday today. I took a bunch of photos and have decided to print, mount and frame one of them for him to commemorate the occasion. I've narrowed it down to three and would appreciate some help in making the final decision......
I don't know Joe but I like the guy in the first photo! :)
Toss up between #2-#3 more towards 2 because of lighting.

My preference is the middle one. The first one just has too many distractions. I think the focus should be on the character in his face. The third one is OK, but again - the second one is better. This is just my opinion, but it's the only one I have to offer!
I like #3 the best because of the lighting. In 2 it looks fake (I think you used a flash) and 3 looks more natural.
Hope this helps.

I would say #3 or #2, but leaning towards 2 for framing/display. #3 if it is part of a chronology/life story/album or going into a collage.
#2 has the best composition, but the worst lighting of the three. #1 would be my choice, but with the foreground objects cropped out and a little front space, but may be too close of a crop. #3 is an un-flattering up shot. If you can photoshop #2 to fix the lighting, I think you have a winner! It may just nee a little darkening to warm the skin tone.

Best face shot is number one, but I spent too much time trying to read his shirt.. so that's out.
The snaggle tooth in #3 is a serious distraction. The face in number one is the best expression.
Number one without a doubt but you must remove the distractions on his left shoulder ( they look like cards). You could just crop out the corner blue box on his right arm.

#2 with a touch more work
Your first photograph has three foreground distractions, which takes your eyes of the subject.
The third photograph has shadow issues and poor lighting and the pose of the subjects head at such a an angle does not do justice to the subject.
So that leaves photograph number two. Although this to has some shadow issues, it is the best pose of the subject without distractions and catches the subject with a genuine smiling face.
so my choice is number two photograph for printing.
