Cropping and integrity

Hi there,
When cropping pictures I have trouble keeping the integrity and they come out looking like they are in a fun house mirror. Any simple suggestions or programs that would help. I used to use Paint shop pro on my PC, but this new MAC is a different story.

Thanks!

JustLinda

On this forum it comes out fine. However on the forum I am trying to post it to as an avatar it is stretched too long length wise and the picture looks like they have necks like a giraffe!

Just a suggestion but most forums have a size limit on avatars. I would resize to their requirements before posting if you haven't already.

Thanks, I have tried to crop it smaller and smaller , but I will keep trying , maybe that is the problem. If I have a pic to post and I do not crop it, it posts perfectly. The minute I change something it gets stretched.

appreciate you input.

Cropping is not the same as resizing. Look for the resizing action in your software.

On the forum where it doesn't post correctly, they most likely have a default format that sets the length to width ratio and stretches anything that doesn't fit. That would mean you may have to crop on both long and short sides to keep it from appearing stretched.
