A nice book, a comfortable chair, a warm fire and a good pinot blanc. Life can be sooo good. ...reminds me that it's time to slow down, take it easy, discard the past and live one day at a time.

I really like your composition and DOF. It's probably not really needed, but I would be driven to correct distortion caused by a nice wide angle lens. I could not resist aligning the right edge of the fireplace and the wineglass stem to be parallel with the vertical edges of the photo.

Thanks for a great photo. There's a real story there.

So beautiful and dreamy. Almost my view last night. It was -17 with -35 wind chills and the wind was howling. Woke up this morning to -20 and wind chills of -40. Windows and window frames had ice on them this morning. I'll probably repeat the scene tonight.

perspective is out. wine glass is falling over to the left.
otherwise, good setup.

Yes, the glass of wine and cozy fire is great up North on a freezing winter night, but here in South Florida at 85 degrees today, a nice cold brew would be more inviting.

OMG! Is it live or is it facebook? Very nice photo, indeed! I also hope 'the peace' you were hoping to find looking at the fire is still there! You must have more grand photos so it looks like I'll have to scour this site to see what my next find is!

Thank you woodie and thanks for looking.

At the time of the photo, you are correct, there was no companion. That changed moments later.

I did see the glass tilting a little to the left. I opted for balancing the top to the frame. Thanks for looking.
