Craig, this is the best moon shot I've seen in a while. I have got to get me one of those lens. Nice work.

Thank you Walt, This lens made it no fun at all to shot the moon.
All I did point Autofocus and shoot. A little tweak in Topaz Detail to sharpen a little. It really was that easy.

Thank you Check6. You must be a pilot. Here's a shot of Singapore Airlines at about 33K.
Thought you might enjoy it. Also shot with the Tamron 150-600mm Lens.
I can tell now I need that extra 12MP I could get out of a D800e over my current D600.
PS: Really nice work at the 'Redding Air Show 2014'.

Wow, great shots and nice crisp detail on the airplane.
Very nice results with that new lens.
Well done Craig.

Thank you very much Jim.
I have another Moon shot I did last night to post here. This time I used the
Tamron 2x Teleconverter, my first try at Manual Focus. I need practice.
I was in a bit of a hurry with a 101* fever.
Nikon D600 w/ Tamron 150-600mm
At 550mm x 2 = 1100mm
Iso 50
f/8 = f/11
1/125 sec
Manual Focus
Then touched up Sharpness, Contrast and Exposure in Topaz Detail3.

Craig, another great shot, but I think the first one was sharper with half the magnification. Interesting.

You're right Walt and that's my fault for not taking the time to focus to the finest it can go.
I kept waiting and waiting for the clouds to clear all the way and got too anxious.
You can see a little cloud in the very bottom of the shot.

Nice Moon shot Craig... too cold here lately when it is clear outside to do Moon shots... average temps in single digits and below zero at times... eyes would be too cold to focus properly... :(

Comets still very visible. It's moving along but its still a nice little fuzz ball. Had off and on clouds last night and interfered with finding it, much less trying to shoot it.
Maybe tomorrow night. We are supposed to be clearing for the weekend.

I am going to try tonight, clear skies are here. My new (used) camera Nikon D800E has not arrived yet and I hate to use my D600 when I know I'm going to sell it but time to shoot the Comet is fading fast. So I'll be careful.
