Uh oh. Here comes the UHH Canon fanboy
.
8-)
I don't own it but most reviews I've read have praised it. You can't judge from one blogger. There was a thread over at canonrumors about this and they didn't have many nice words to say about him, in fact it was implied that he's an amateur with a blog.
Nope, I'm no fanboy, I own Nikon binoculars :)

Exactly. It only takes a few psychologists at the rear of the short bus to explain this.

Thanks for this, I laughed hard :)
The Canon user reviews tend to praise it compared to the original 7D. The technical reviews all tend to slap it way down the list compared to any other DX body on the market. Funny how that works.
Personally, I think Canon has finally figured out how to start getting better high ISO performance out of their sensors, and that can only be a good thing.
IMHO its not the camera but the Glass!
no. It's not as bad as he makes it sound. Neither is the original 7D.
I've never shot this camera so I can't say if he's right or wrong. However he doesn't sound like much of a photographer to me if he expects the electronics to do everything for him... because that's what he sounds like.
If it were all about the electronics or sensor of the camera then there wouldn't be a good photo out there because no one would be skilled enough to "make do" with the equipment they have as opposed to making great stuff with "nothing" equipment. Good photographers have been doing that for years... I wouldn't listen to this guy.
No I do not agree with his findings in fact the photos he shows on his site both Nikon and Canon shown at 100°look just the same to my eye. If any thing both companies need to build better sensors but just maybe technology is just not there yet. So in my opinion just enjoy what you have and stop all this who better stuff? For me I'll stay with Canon because of my investment and those who invest in their system stay with it plain and simple!
Now that a few people have chimed in, here are my thoughts. He is looking at the JPEGs straight out of the camera- not the best way to judge the images produced from a camera. From my experience, Canon has not been very consistent in the default JPEG setting in the camera. He really needs to do his 'tests' (if you can call them that) using the RAW files.
He liked the Canon 5D MK III and the 70D but did not like the 7D or7D MK II. His reasoning is not very well thought out.
Having used the 7D MK II for a few weeks now, it will not replace my 5D MK III but it performs much better than my original 7D. I am still amazed at the AF system- the tracking is second to none.
I love when people demand the greatest autofocus systems, sensors, high ISO performance, etc possible to shoot sucky amateur crap.
Harold, I just hope this guy isn't famous somehow.
I glanced at those shots he had.
First I want to say, certainly he must have neighbors? He could have at least borrowed kids to shoot. God, those are kids only a mother could love!!
2nd, what is it about beginners that they are SO obsessed with HIGH ISO?
The shots he presents could have been taken with an Instantic!!
Load an Instamatic with decent film, take a hammer and knock off that tiny little lens they have and duct tape a Zeiss anything to it and you could have gotten the same shots, probably better!!
There are way too many people out there(and here on the Hog too) that don't actually know what cameras are made for.
The 7Dmkll has DUEL Digic 6 processors for crying out loud.
If one has NO idea how to wring the performance out of a couple of processors like that, please do NOT comment on a camera like that. It is OUT of your league!
And if the only thing you know how to make noise about is high ISO, just get something else and leave that camera for those that actually know what to do with it!
SS
Looks to me that he's a terrible photographer. Terrible shots. He was probably shaking from his drug stupor. I own a 7BII. I like it.
Sorry, I must be shaking too,. 7DII LOL
