I recently received an email from Picture Correct that I found very fascinating and wanted to share it with you. Here is the introduction and the address that I copied direct from the site. Take a look!!
A recent TED TALK by digital artist, Erik Johansson has raised a few eyebrows among the photography crowd for more than a couple reasons. While most will agree that his photography skills are far above average, critics argue that the real art behind his work comes in Photoshop. For those of you not familiar with Johanssons work, he is a well know image manipulator that combines multiple photographs resulting in a single photograph that would be otherwise impossible to take with a camera.

That boy is just short of being a genius.... True, his "ART" is not so much in the form of clicking the shutter to creat an outstanding picture, but rather as he states, in creating his "ART" after the fact... His "ART" is created in his Brain....
As long as everyone understands these are not photographs, they are photo illustrations.
Hello FullmoonRoses,
Thank you for your comments in my images,
I haven't watched TED for awhile but do occasionally go thru their video presentations for inspiration and enlightenment given by their speakers. Always enjoyable.
I hadn't seen this one before,....he is quite interesting and accomplished at his technique.
I love the whole process and am always viewing tutorials to gain insights that can better my techniques producing images as I saw them at exposure. I try to convey the feeling I experienced in each of my images,...not always successful but a great goal.
No I do not manipulate, but I try to realistically enhance.
I do work with a lot of photographers printing their images though,....and the skills I've learned over the years better my representation of their work as well as my own work.
Thanks for the link,...enjoyed it immensely.

they are just as much photographs as using multiple film negatives of the same scene enlarged onto photo paper and developed. If the image was shot with a box, a hole and either sensor, film, or unexposed photo paper, it is a photograph.
