How do I access the EXIF data from a picture someone has posted and selected [download picture]?

I don't know what program you use (I use Aperture) find metadata info and look for a place to display exif.

Ligthroom will show it assuming the owner of the picture didn't strip out all the data before posting.

Right click with your mouse, if they haven't stripped the information it should be available.

I wish that most photos on photography forums weren't stripped of the exif data. I learn so much when I can see what the settings were. Alternatively, I think that every picture should be posted , automatically, with the settings listed especially when someone is asking for CC or help.

You can download the wherewithal to read the exif file itself at http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/.

It's a little technical, but easy enough after you figure it out.

Good luck!

Thanks, Guys.
I sure hate to admit stupidity, but I hope my explanation will help some souls out there.
When I clicked on [download] a bigger image showed on my monitor. Clicking properties at this stage doesn't open EXIF.
The image must be saved first to the computer and THEN the properties summary works.
Using kidneys instead of brains oft times results in Duh's. :(
