I am sometimes amazed at what people use for lawn ornaments in rural North Carolina - but this IS farming country after all. The sketched image of the tree by the lake wouldn't be visible in summer time.

Like some others, I have determined not to reach into the archives this year, and only show photographs that were shot in 2015. I'm also experimenting with FastOne Image Viewer (version 5.3) to create my new border effect.

Thanks MissStephie. As incongruous as that grouping was, it actually looked pretty nice sitting on a rise over the lake.

I like that first one. Yard art is big in my area, old farming equipment, old trucks.

I don't know much, but I really like the last one. I like the balance of the photo.

I'm currently in a big B&W mode. 2nd one for me. Love your framing treatment.

Thanks howlynn. If this type of yard art appeals to you, you'd love living in this area. It's all around us.

Thanks Jim. A little bit of color goes a long way.

Thank you Jayne. Sometimes I like to get away from the technicalities of what is supposed to make a photo "good", and just go with feelings. There are a lot of photos I've seen here that do just that ...... I can't explain it, but I know I like it.

Thanks preachy. I'm glad I presented one of each: color and b&w - that way everyone is covered. And an interesting note about the frame - I spent more time getting it to look just right than I did processing the original photos. It's finally got the balance I was looking for.

I like the tree on the point of land.

Thanks Karin. That tree had such a pretty shape to it that I wanted to see if I could bring it home. The problem was, all those branches at front were trying to hide it. But the sketch processing seems to have brought it out just as I hoped it would.

Commendable resolution, Bob. Good luck with that one, lol.

As for the lawn ornaments, if you got 'em, use 'em. Nice shots!

Thanks Randy. Yep, I suspect pink plastic flamingoes would look out of place on an old tobacco farm.
