I have owned several over the years and currently have the 10x42s...they are second to none! I also own Swaro 8x42 and have hunted with both these binoculars in all the Rocky mountain states and Alaska. They are fantastic and I heartily recommend them.

I have an 8x32 Trinovid that I just had cleaned/collimated and they are sensational. I've handled some of the Ultravids and couldn't see a great deal of difference between the two models. However, if you buy Leica binoculars I don't think you're going to be trading them for something better....there is nothing better. I've got an old pair of Leitz Mardixit 10X50s which were made back in the 1960's and even they are very clear and sharp, even though the optics back then weren't coated.

Don't know a thing about the ultravids, but I have owned a pair of 8x20 trinovids since about 75. They are an extremely high quality/precision optic.
I imagine, just like good lenses they will hold their value.
If I were into birdwatching I'd get a bigger pair.
Mine are in my camera pack 24/7 and have been to probably 30 countries, as they are ultra small!!

They are great, have used them for years. Also really like Canon Image Stabilized binocs. Have a lot of birder friends and they look down their noses at them until the try them. Heavier and not quite the same crispness in perfect conditions but the vibration reduction makes up for a lot in the real world on a long day. Run a comparison test for 30 or 45 minutes (not just 2 minutes each) and see what you think. Really helpful on a boat or in a vehicle!!

Congratulations. You have the best binoculars made.
I have my pair of Trinovid 7X35B's for over 40 years.
This model isn't made any more. Perfect or me.
I have had Nikons prior to these. Leitz lenses stand out.
