This is my second try and I believe this is definitely better than the first stack:

I have a lot to learn but this is great fun. 42 frames, 1/200-sec at f/8.0. 2.5x magnification, maybe a little closer to 3x.
I don't recall your first attempt, but this one looks pretty good for a second try. A few very minor issues but, all in all pretty nice
Descent results. I do not seeing any glaring focus banding. The color cast can be easily corrected.
What was your advance distance between your 42 exposures?

No that can't be right. 150mm is almost 6". Perhaps you meant "µm" (micrometer)?

When by itself, µ stands for micron. This term has recently been superseded by micrometer or µm."

Better color correction on second image post.
Yea, I think it looks a lot better after a little lightroom. Thanks Nikonian72.
Looks real nice, I still have to find one of these
150 microns = 150um = 0.150 mm. Unless I have this wrong. Allen, you know about these things.

Brenda: I'll give the credit to Douglass.

Per
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micrometre "
. . . µm or micrometer = one millionth of a meter = one thousandth of a millimeter . . ."
Steps of 0.15-mm are within the realms of reality. Ten steps = 1.5-mm; forty-two steps = 6.3-mm.
You catch on quick. Now it's off to the races.......
Thanks fstop22. I never knew how much fun I was missing. I need to be young again.
