My Sigma from KEH is awesome, but being used, came with no case. I'm looking at Optech's XXL Snoot Boot and it looks like LowePro might make something big enough. I'd like to keep the lens with the hood and the tripod mount at the ready. The Optech might just barely fit with the hood in the reverse position. Anybody with some good advice out there? Thanks and Happy New Year to my friends at the Hog! All the best...

Check your local medical supply stores for a oxygen bottle bag, they are available in different sizes.

Cool, that might be perfect. As long as they don't charge medical prices! That's really about all the Optech bag looks to be.

They sell them on Amazon and the prices are not bad at all.

It fits very nicely in the padded case that comes with my Nest gimbal heads.
Also, Sigma sells their fitted case that comes with this lens on their website, Part # is LS-737. It may be discontinued as that lens is now officially out of production.
The Lowepro LC-5 also fits it well.

Thanks for the legwork, MT. Even model numbers. Wow! Happy New Year!

Just checked both out online, out of stock or discontinued. Next stop, eBay!

I signed up with Lowepro to alert me when it's back in stock. Thanks again, everybody...

Look at the largest "APE" case - it is what you are looking for ( oversize) .....sorry do not have a link right now

The lens will fit, but not with the tripod collar still on it.
Here is the new version of the case I referenced above, it will take the Sigma with the tripod collar attached.

Well who'da thunk! The Next gimbal head bag is very nice but I've felt guilty about not using it. The Sigma bag is also very good and well padded, but bulky, so I've been looking for an alternative. Both problems solved! And the Nest bag still has room for gloves, knit hat, couple of beers, or whatever. Thanks, MT.

That's a bummer because it is a nice padded case. My 150-500 rolled off the top bunk in my camper in it and was fine.

Did you check if you could get one from Sigma?

Thanks MT. You're amazing. Lowepro was out of stock. I'm ordering from your link right now before they are gone. Also, I'll bet if that carbon gimbal head is free with your "special" that the case is kinda pricey.
