Hi I'm new to the discussion. I would like to know what other photographers do to see the screen on a digital when your in the sun and there's a reflection in the screen. I've messed up some nice shots because I could'nt see the imagine in the screen. Thanks for your help. Darlene

You can purchase covers that go over your screen but I've not used one so I don't know how effective they are. My guess is that they may inhibit your ability to get a good read on your exposure and maybe even focus.
BTW Welcome to the forum.

In cooler weather I pull my jacket up over both od us for a good look, in warmer weather my photo vest or my reflector if needed. Often just a cap will help out a LOT. No place to carry one of the Hoodman units or I might buy one.

I use a Hoodman. I shoot a lot in the Mojave Desert and it comes in really handy.

I some time take an old towel with me and carry it around my shoulders. It is out of the way and easy to access. Some people probably will think you are on your way to shower but who cares.

I look through the view finder and seldom if ever use the screen, but then again I learned pre screen.

I have to agree that I seldom use the digital screen because of my inability to see it. The covers available are more for protection than to improve one's ability to see(at least the one's I've seen). I continually read folks on here telling people to check their screens to see if they got the shot right or not---at best I would be able to see if I had taken the shot at all. To me personally the only thing the screen is good for is if you are using "Live View" in an indoor setting or to check if you have gotten your shot(indoors). Even in the best conditions that screen is too small for these old eyes to see any detail---that's just me........
