Good idea altho' you may have to hurry. People tend to take down Christmas right after New Year's here. OR you could knock on their door and ask if they'd let you know when they will undo the tree and maybe you can get a shot without the gifts?

Well, around here the outdoor ones stay out a while. I think it helps keep our spirits up in the sub zero weather.

But why do I have to justify a decorated Christmas tree in the dark? It's the way we like to view them. We wait until dark to drive around and look at the lights. Dark hides all the things around the decorated tree that detract from it. I like negative space in an image. I think I have just enough space to the right of the light on the ground.

I want to hear why it should be lightened ... what would it do for the image of the tree.

1. You don't have to justify anything.
2. You like negative space. 'Nuff said.
3. You think you've enough space to the right of the tree? Unarguable!
Differing opinions are only that. Their value lies only in suggesting possible alternatives to your own, to consider, accept, or discard, with thanks to those who offered them.

I personally like this image very much.
