While in Rome Italy, I grabbed this early morning shot of the Supreme Court building and bridge. I would like to do a large print to show in a gallery. Black & White or Colour?

wow THAT is going to be a tough choice for YOU to make. I really like both, but I think personally number one would be my go to photo. On download it is just extraordinary...

I like the color, but I think the B/W is more likely to win the prize.

Thanks for viewing. I'm trying to figure out what the general public would like more.

I really like the color version Ultra-Man. It seems to bring the picture to life. Besides I still see in color and just prefer that. :) :)

I've deleted my comments because I had a second look at both photos. If you could downplay the light right in front of the building, I would vote for the black-and-white because the leaf at the bottom left of the photo is shaded more and less distracting. Both photos are gorgeous. It's a toughie of a choice.

Both are gorgeous photos, altho' the lights distract me a bit. This photo creates some tension in me. Do you have two equal subjects - the building and the bridge? Since the building, which has beautiful architectural components, is in shade and since most of the photo is the water and the concentration is on the bridge, seems to me the subject is the bridge.

In any case, you have asked a real toughie. I love black-and-white photography. If you had said the subject was the bridge, I would have voted for the black-and-white. Since you have two subjects, I would have to vote for the color so that one can see the building better.

I didn't mean for the first paragraph to be a critique, because you did not ask for one. I meant it as an explanation for my druthers. I hope you read it with that in mind.

Thanks Ediesaul. Your critique helps.

Wow...I love both, but I will vote for the B&W for a gallery showing. its rare to find a photo in B&W with so much depth. Really outstanding PP.

I've changed my mind!!!! That's how tough this choice is. I had another and another and another look. I now vote for the black-and-white because there's a leaf on the bottom left that is more distinct in the color iteration than in the black-and-white and I find the leaf distracting. If only you could tone down that light in front of the building...

Sorry about the multiple comments. Still learning UH.

I downloaded and studied each one several times. Rough decision but the B&W came out on top! Both excellent but I think the B&W is a contest winner!

For me it's the color version.
That blue sky and reflections in the water are stunning!
Great photo! Thanks for sharing!
