Teleconverters .. front or rear mount, which is best?

I borrowed a friend's Oly 2.0 teleconverter and liked it a lot, but went with the 1.4. I teamed it with my 70-300mm and then stepped sideways form an E-600 to the E-30. So far it is a steeper learning curve but I like the results so far.
