I found some little Ammonite jewels (fossilized Nautilus) to shoot table top and I quickly realized how much mirror slap effects fine detail. I have only done these with mirror down and in jpeg fine. They look fairly good until you download them.
Next time I will clean them better, rub some Glycol on them to hide micro scratches and shoot mirror up.

No, not yet. I know there's also live view. These are tools I will be getting acquainted with very soon. :wink:

Yeah, I've started using live view + the zoom tool to find the critical focus point. It's a great feature under the right circumstances.
