when I open my pics in PSE8, some have a whited out square or rectangle in the lower right corner of some of the photos. What's wrong? Just started happening a few days ago. Camera Canon Eos Rebel xsi.

Open the pic in your default viewer to see if the square is still there.

That is because the photo was opened as a smart object. What you need to do is go to the layers pallette right click on the layer and choose rasterize from the menu that pops up then you can edit all you want to.

It could be your memory card has a dead spot or it might be your camera sensor. If some of your images don't have this white spot maybe it's some dust or dirt on your sensor. You might try using a different memory card and if you stilll get those white spots try using one of those rubber squeeze blowers and blow into the camera without a lens and the mirror locked up if your camera has this feature. Use caution if you use a blower. Don't get over jealous using it because you could ruin your camera.
