I have procrastinated for some time as to posting this, but decided to go for it. Guess I had a fear of being labeled "cruel".
Back in the old days of film when i was eagerly into photography as an avocation, my wife said she would like to become involved. So I offered to let her manage and carry some of the equipment when out scouring for good images. For some reason she always seemed to be lagging behind. I had all I could do to carry my 35 mm. I did not want to discourage her for she does have a sense of what might work photographically.
Now with the advent of digital we have downsized and she is also shooting. But I really do feel bad, for she has had to have
surgery on both rotator cuffs. She must have learned something by tagging along though, for now she does very well with her images.

A real trooper! (I used to buy my Kodachrome 64 in a brick like that too)
"An excellant wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels." (Proverbs 31:10)
I think you're doing fine, as long as you don't load her down too badly. It looks like a fairly lightweight tripod...she's doing fine!

Nice Biblical quote. Thanks.

Sure is, I am not quite that cruel. We did do wedding photography for 25 years as an avocation, and she was very helpful with equipment then. The rotator cuff surgery is not a joke, but a reality. Very painful and much rehab.
She has become quiite proficient with a point and shoot and has had an article publishe in
"Birds and Blooms".
I think you made a pack mule out of her. Did she do like a mule and balk when the load got to heavy?

No way! Perhaps you have heard the story about Amish newlyweds on their honeymoon and the horse balked on them.?
Have you considered getting her a insulated back pack to carry the cool drinks. Shame to waste unused space.
You have a real trooper and I think a keeper!
You are a lucky man
