I wish I was more of a morning person! I think I like the first better than the last & #2 has great composition.

Great pics. There is just something special about abandoned, old barns and old houses - just trying to imagine lost and forgotten histories and stories that are their secrets.

Great shots, Travesty!

Thank you.. :) My favorite time to take photos is the 20 min. before sunrise.. I love the drive just as much as taking the photos.. By the time my Wife woke up I was already home and downloading these :)

Thanks Doug! So many stories to be told in these old structures.. They are coming down so fast around me though.. I feel a need to document them..

Well spotted. I think the earthy colours help to tell the story, so I prefer the colour versions.

You caught the mood of loneliness quite well with your compositions.

Thanks R.G.! :) I must confess these are not new finds for me, but they become new subjects under different light...

What I wouldn't give to have permission to metal detect that yard! Was that a hotel in the first pic? Yes, thats the unfortunate part, all these wooden structures come down at some point, unlike the stone/masonary structures in the UK. Very nice images, well done!

Thank you Don!.. I am not one to trespass, but a metal detector is something I have considered getting for some of the older sites around here.... The 1st shot is just a unique 3 story barn. The only one I have seen in my region... I would love a trip to the U.K., just to get lost in the old counrtysides with my camera..
