Critique Doing Purpose.
One of the members stated he did not understand my critique smilies. Actually I have three, 1 :| Ok 2 :D Good 3 :P Very Good 4 Best, used for forum, I Look at pic first, rate and then read others comments. I rate first to give my own opinion, read to learn how others see & feel.
My own work gets graded very different. I use the PPA 12 Elements of Judging, 99% get deleted.
I researched (on going) other contest critique guidelines. Came up with my own system, (Modified 12 Elements) down to 5,
Impact/Message = wow factor & story.
Technical/Creativity = use of equipment camera & PP/Use of subject & medium with imagination.
Composition/Center(s) of Interest = Leading the viewers eye / to the subject(s)
Style/Presentation = Subject and style work together / Image finished, borders enhance?
Lighting/Color balance = Use and control of light / Do tones work together?
Each gets a rate of 1-4, (Low - Medium - High - Excellent) with a possible score of 20. I use this on the pix that get an
:thumbup: in the first rating system, use for my own learning curve up to now.

That sounds like a lot of work. I just look at them. See if I like the picture. And if it needs anything to make it better. And if they asked for help. Then I just try to help them.
