I have not used the a6000 myself, but my brother-in-law uses it and he loves it.
I am taking pictures with a6000, this camera is amazing...

I have also just bought one, I have found it does not really like the ISO above 800 & even that high there is some noise. It took me a little while to work out the focus but I am pretty OK with that now, I have only had it a week & my normal camera is a Nikon 600 with a long lens for wildlife & birds but with arthritis in my wrists & hands I got this lovely little light camera for happy snaps of grandkids etc. It came with 2 kit lenses & in time I would like to get a nice wide angle lens for concerts & things but they are not cheap but I will see how things go but so far I am pretty happy with it. The reviews are excellent so probably just a learning curve with a new camera, cannot do the wifi thing with it yet but will have another go at that when this busy holiday season is over. Climbing Australia,s biggest mountain on Sunday so hope to use it then, much easier to carry on the climb, not that it is too far after we get off the chair lift but still about 4 miles or so to walk but it is all on paths so not too steep either!

I got one about six months ago and really enjoy it. There is quite a learning curve and I am sure I will never maximize its potential but it takes great photos and is a lot of fun. I like the size compared to my DSLRs and big lenses.
talk about noise is highly over rated. noise is of importance to some but usually occurs in prints over 8X10. In film we learned to use noise creatively and in fact until better developers came along ASA or ISO 400 produced grainy shots.
Ditto for "sharp as a tack" glass! Under 8X10 it is hard to find NOT as sharp as a tack shots. I find shots that are not as sharp as a tack either focus or aperture issues or both and not glass issues!
Anyway I digress, the questions are do you want to lug around a lot of weight or not and do you want to impress your neighbor or not. If the answers are in the not column then the a6000 will do just about everything a big ole nikon or canon will do and do it without the hernia!
I have the a6000 and a3000. Both are great cameras for the way I used them. I have the 18/55 and 18/100 lens. The 16/50 was panned by reviewers so I skipped it.
Both are lightweight, take up little little space in a carry on bag. The a6000 doesn't replace my d800 but it weighs so little and does pretty good.
Just opened mine yesterday morning. Quite an eye opening experience coming from older Canon models! Lol looks like it will take some time getting through the menu to figure out some favorite setting options.Quite the array of features. Decided to put it in the green for a week and just see what it will do on full auto. Small in hands, but feels quite solid. Only quirk I found so far is the on board flash failed to fire on first shot indoors each time after pop up. Will be exploring this a little more.
Think next add-on will be an EOS lens adapter. This could be a lot of fun after some edu-macation! Lol
Awhile back I bought my wife a Nikon D5300....still haven't seen many pix. Then I got a a6000...she's burning up SD cards right and left. Go figure?!

The better half has one and lives it. Speed, IQ, lightweight, small size........what's not to like? Only downside now is lens selection.
