Any body working with the Mamiya 645? I hauled one around for years. Loved it. and thinking about buying another one. Anyone else using one?

New to this site and have not shot many pictures and years, but now I plan to get back to it. I did fashion, Hairstyling, and outdoor stuff, and loved it all.

Used 1 a couple of times many years ago. Very nice smaller medium format system. There's a shop here in Columbus that has a large selection of used equipment in good condition at very reasonable prices. You might find 1 there.

Sorry. I thought I had included the link. http://worldofusedphotography.com/

They don't list their stock online but, if you send them an email, they can quote you a price. From what I've looked at their prices are very good and they seem to be willing to haggle.

I have two very clean ones with lenses if you want to buy them. I used them for most of the 90s until digital came along. Before that I used a Mamiya C330 TLR. The quality of the pictures that comes from these medium format cameras is better in some cases that I have seen from digital.

I used the Mamiya 645 for several years. Had two of them with several lenses. I sold them a few years ago and I am now 100% digital. The camera and lenses were great, but remember that there is an expense associated with the 645. You will need lenses. I used the TTL hood which also cost extra. And then there is the expense of 120 roll film and then the cost of developing and printing.

Having said all of that, if that is where your ambition takes you ....go for it!

My photo buddy and I both have both digital and film cameras. We always laugh that when we find a really good spot, we drag out the "big boys" and shoot film. The pictures are always better! They're just so heavy.

I have the 645 with several lenses. I really enjoying working with that camera but use it very little in the digital age today.

Yes I know they are heavier than the Digitals but that was what I liked when I used the 645, It always was heavier that a 35. I love the size in my hands.

I don't think the Mamiyas are that heavy as compared to the larger MF models.

I had some lenses get stuck when I live down in MS. and the viewfinder also was sticking and the cost was more than I wanted to spend at the time. I really thought that I wanted to go digital. So I sold the set up and Now I miss it so. I have a small digital that we use for snap shots and quick stuff. So that being said I really miss the size the weight and the picture of the 645. so I am watching ebay maybe I will find what I want there. Thanks to all, for your responses. John
