I see Jim and I both arose to the challenge of shooting the 24hr old Moon. Plus Orion Nebula

I thought you had sold your 8" for your new Tamron?
Either way, nicer shots then what I got with my 300mm L all on its lonesome. I should have pulled out one of my scopes.
;)
Well done.

Thank you Jim.
I sold the old 1972 Celestron C-8 I had stashed in the garage.
My newer scope is a 2001 Meade LX90 8"
Eventually I'd like to move up to a newer LX200.

Hi Craig! Both are good shots! I think unless you upgrade to the newer Meade ATF (is that what they call it) there wouldn't be much advantage to upgrading, unless you're having hardware/auto guiding problems. I have a 10" LX 200 GPS, but my skies aren't very good, and it gets heaver as the years pass.... I'll have to fire it up for Jupiter, though.

Thank you DL, now that I'm collimated I can start on the real task of perfecting my shots. I can also do some Afocal work with my 17mm Eyepiece. And eventually upgrade from my Meade LX90 8" to the LX200 10". I think I'd be more successful with the extra 2"s on smaller objects and the sturdier Forks. Let alone the ATF system. Any comments welcome I'm always open to discussion.
