Has the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary been released yet? And if so, has anyone on this list had a chance to use one. The sport edition is beyond my needs, finances, and strength, but I'm really interested in the 150-600 range-been following most discussion on the Tamron, but would like some firsthand feedback on the Sigma, if available.

Just checked their website and still no price given, so it hasn't been released yet.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Fantastic lens, I like it better than the Tamron version. Woops, I thought it was April 1st, Sorry. Merry Christmas!!

Got tired of waiting and got a used 150-500 from KEH. At least I'll have lots of shots while waiting and I can build up my strength on this earlier version of the Bigma...

According to Sigma, this will be a Q1 2015 release. If you're really interested, I'd get on the list at Roberts or CameraCottage now! Happy holidays to ALL!

The USB dock, used properly, will allow the Sigma to perform better than the Tamron in most situations.

Hi all,

Just wanted to pop in and say we've written about the experience using the 150-600 from both Tamron and Sigma over at the B&H blog, in case anyone was interested in reading those accounts. As a note though, we tested the Sport version of the Sigma.
