i have used this unit twice.. when i first got it.... and you could push the button half way and would focus..
i pulled it out the other day to use it to do af fine tune on my lenses.. now it will not focus with the button pressed halfway down, but it still will activate shutter
i have changed the settings to BBF when i first got the d800

i have changed the batteries , nothing in the trouble shooting chart. thought i would get some input before i go to Nikon support....

Switch back to shutter half-press AF/AE. Your remote trigger is nothing but a remore shutter button and will not operate as BBF.

WHAT??? Do you mean to imply that a photographic component manufacturer could possibly issue vague directions. Why, that's blasphemy! You might as well accuse the manufacturer of turning over the task of writing instructions to a group of technical writers who have no idea of how the camera works and who may have never seen the camera, but are writing two hundred page user manuals on the basis of a bunch of engineering notes written in grease pencil on the back of a Burger King wrapper in a different language. Why, the nerve of some people!

There has to be YouTube tutorial videos that will supplant the Godox manuals (still much better than the Yongnuo's version of Englishin their manuals - part of why I switched to Godox).

I just hevrd of a very insightful YouTube video entitled the hidden functionality in the Godox X1R N trigger for Nikon…

or things like using the XPro Wireless Controller / Transceiver to trip the camera's shutter…

The tuts are out there folks & they are referred to in the buyer's reviews on Amazon as a way to get past the manual's translation from Chinese …
