Once again I am heading to the big apple for the May 24 weekend and I will have 3 days. I've been to all the standard spots with the exception of the high line and that is a priority this trip. I've done Hoboken, CP, WTC, new WTC, Battery Park, Harlem, cathedrals, museums, Time Square etc.

Along with the high line I also want to shoot the B and M bridges at sunset God willin and the crick don't rise.

Any other suggestions out there?

In The Bronx, at the Grand Concourse and Fordham Road is the Loew's Theater. It is a Bronx landmark and the 3rd largest theater in New York City. It has been renovated.

In Washington Heights is the Cloisters. It's a reconstructed medieval monastery in Fort Tryan park. It contains a great collection of medieval art. The building itself is constructed from parts of several European medieval monasteries brought over here in pieces. Besides the building and the art collection there is an incredible view of the Hudson River, the Palisades, and the George Washington Bridge.

If you like zoos the Bronx Zoo is a world class zoo. If you like gardens the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx across from the zoo is a world class botanic garden.

You might want to consider some of the outer boroughs: the Bronx Zoo, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Coney Island, take in a game at Citi Field in Queens. All are easily accessible by subway and are fun things to do

I'd suggest Central Park, the Lower East Side, China Town, Little Italy, let me know when closer to your trip, if I'm available perhaps we can meet up, Bob.

Thanks Bob. I'll definitely let you know. Always looking for a good photo partner. Especially when they're a local with all the insights.

Oh this City changes everyday, always a new adventure, I could do another walk across the Brooklyn Bridge too, plus I want to hit the Highline for the newly opened area , it's been almost a year since I was there. I'm in the City but an hour and a half from B&H, give you an idea , Bob.

The cathedral of St John the Devine at 113 and Amsterdam is a must if you haven't done it yet. It's the biggest cathedral in the US. Some great arcetechure in the area hehind the church. The metropolitan museum of art is a must at 80 and fifth. You might be able to use the camera inside without flash, but ask first as it may not be allowed. Don't forget to stop at the Carniege Deli for the best Pastrami sandwich in the world.

The High Line is great, just expanded. I would try it on a weekday if you can because it can get rather crowded on the weekend. Took a course on composition at the High Line over a year ago in September-was fantastic , but very busy and crowded. You will enjoy the shoot immensely!
