I also use the mono placed between the seat and the driver's door for those out of the window shots. I can also then hop out of the car and use it as intended. I have a mono-gimbal head that adds to the flexibility.

Been wondering about extending the monopod and place the support socket much lower. Guess I need to start experimenting since the spring birding season is here. It is certainly a good idea, just need to refine mine.

Keep at it ! It all seems a bit foreign and un-natural - but it really does work and the results are worth it....
