Been reading about how the sx50 can't take bif's. Granted, I'm still learning but they can be done. These were done on trip to Circle Bar B ranch in Lakeland, FL. (Saw a fellow there with huge lens on his camera, told me there was an eagle in a tree way off in the distance. I couldn't even identify the tree let alone an eagle in it but shot it anyway and lucked out as you can tell by the picture.) I'll bet he still thinks I got nothing!
OOps, got my daughters canon rebel camera picture of the sandhill crane. Not my sx50

Welcome malawibob
Well done! You will find several here who post shots using the sx50. Yes, BIFs can be done as you learned. (I even posted a couple yesterday) The sx50 is a really fun camera. Look forward to seeing more from you.

Super shots! I would be thrilled with that egret!
I also love the eagle image. Because of the distance, and the pretty setting, I'm glad you didn't crop more closely. Looks great this way! The greens are a tad vivid, which happens with this camera, but that's easily corrected, or if you enjoy as-is, that's good too :)
Thanks ellie, I've been hanging around too long, time to post.
Thanks Linda, still learning on Lightrooms. sometimes the vivid gets too vivid.
