Lobelia Seeds

We seed snapdragons in the greenhouse. The seeds are tiny, about 200,000 per oz. One year we seeded Lobelia and found that the seeds are even smaller.

Natural light in the greenhouse on a sheet of paper. No flash. It was a flat subject so it was pretty easy to shoot. Two snapdragon seeds included for comparison.

Itty-bitty!
Use of a U.S. dime is excellent for scale comparison. Each seed is approximately the size of a SINGLE knurl on the edge of dime. Did I mention itty-bitty?

Yes they are tiny. As a child my Dad and I put in alternate plants of Lobelia and Alison all around the edges of the borders every year, the blue and white lines made quite a show. I still prefer the Snapdragons though and their various colours.

Great photo. I really like it. I am wondering if itsy-bitsy is smaller or larger than teensy-weentsy.
