I had to go to the Adobe site and download it. The update wouldn't work. I tried it over a period of several days - always an error message. Now it works fine.

The announcement I read said that the .1 update had to do with one Samsung camera.

It appears that on my computer the usual update method is not triggered. Even when I click on Help > Check for Updates... it returns the reply that 5.7 is current.

If you really have a Samsung NX1, you should do a manual update like Jerry.

That is what I was trying to say. Maybe I can say it a different way.

I don't think anyone with 5.7 will get a notice or find the .1 upgrade in the normal way. This is probably because Adobe is fixing a bug for one camera and that is a relatively new camera. A .1 update would be annoying for the vast majority so they are not pushing it downstream.

If you are an Adobe Cloud user, when you open the interface > Apps, you may find LR has vanished from the top section and is now in the bottom half ready for installation. The update contains (as mentioned earlier) a Samsung bug fix and a couple of new lens profiles.

my lightroom disappears from the app window and shows I need to download it...

You did not come up short with me! I'm not bothered at all. In fact, I rather enjoy trying, repeat trying, to share knowledge if I have it.

I received notification that the update was available, so I downloaded it and started using it immediately with no issues.

I have LR 5.7 installed not part of the cloud and when I checked for update LR said it was up to date. However I installed LR from the cloud and got LR 5.7.1

No idea. I got this message for several days. Then I downloaded directly from Adobe.

I updated mine the other day when it was brought to my attention on UHH and I had no problems. It took a few minutes to download but that may have been my internet.
