I went to purchase this program today but did a check first to see if it will work on my computer.I got a message saying impressions will not work on my system because it's running open GL 3.0.0. It needs to be on open GL 3.2 system or later. It also says you can update your graphics card.To my knowledge,I don't have a graphics card. They sent me to a link to read up on the requirements but way over my head.Has anyone here had this same problem & if so what did you do? Thanks for any help You can give me!😀

Did you mention your computer type and model? Anyway, I think most computers today have a graphics card. My laptop does. When I downloaded Impression all I got was the color red in every window of the program. I learned on the Topaz Labs site that I needed to update my graphics card software. It led me to a site that searched my machine, identified the driver needed and with a few clicks, installed what I needed.

Impression works fine now.

There may be an upgrade for your open GL system too. But, I've never heard of that.

I have a Gateway model DX4860.Processor-Intel(R) corel(T-M) CPU @3.30 GHz 64 bit operating system.Do I have to purchase a graphics card before impressions will work? I have never purchased a graphics card so I doubt there is one, maybe that is the problem?

The graphics (card) may be built into the motherboard. If you don't know the specs then go to: all programs-accessories-system tools-system information-display and it will give you the details. Go to the site for the card's maker and get the latest software for that card. They should also have instructions on installing the software.quote=Marilyng]I have a Gateway model DX4860.Processor-Intel(R) corel(T-M) CPU @3.30 GHz 64 bit operating system.Do I have to purchase a graphics card before impressions will work? Opps, left off a step:
all programs
accessories
system tools
system information
components
display (click and a list opens)

The first item on top is the name of the graphics device (it may be a card or built into the motherboard, it won't tell you that).
On mine it says NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 so I would do a google search for NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 software and it will lead me to the company site. You search for what it says for your machine. Somewhere on the site will be info on the latest drivers for the device and hopefully instructions on installing/updating the software.

You might also search for Gateway model DX4860 on the gateway site. They should have drivers and downloads.

I just did that and they have drivers for your machine, listed as VGA nvidia.

If you know someone who is sort of a computer geek, ask them to help you through the install process.

I had a problem where Impressions wouldn't load even though my Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 was listed on the Topaz site as being compatible. Topaz said to upgrade at Intel however Intel stated that the card was custom for HP and so couldn't upgrade it. I upgraded the card at the HP site and the program then loaded. 64 bit configuration is needed, also.

Boy,From what I have read there a lot of people who have had issues with impressions! I do have a 64 bit configuration that muchI am sure about. I am just having trouble finding the graphic card,if I have one!

OK, it says Intel HD, so it is intel video
further down it says driver version 8.15.10.2353

Contact Gateway about where to find the latest drivers and how to install them
If there are no newer drivers the only solution is an upgrade by installing a stand alone video card that meets the specs.
At this point you need a computer geek. My machine's video card came with software that sends me upgrades just like Windows Update, I just click yes or no. (it is a gaming card so it came with stuff like that).

It doesn't appear to be trouble with impressions but the fact impressions is fairly new and needs the latest or near latest video to run.

You have a graphics card or you wouldn't be able to see videos or work on photos. Follow RVDigitalboy's advice. Topaz will give you a list of graphics card upgrades that will allow you to use Impressions. It will identify your card and give you a list of upgrades that will work. When I downloaded Impressions I too got a red screen. The upgrade fixed that.

I too have been having a problem trying to load Impressions which I have already purchased. Trying to update the graphics card, my entire computer did something and everything appeared "stretchy". After days, I have it back to normal but still can not load impressions because, even though updated, it says my system is running Open GL 3.1.0 and needs Open 3.2 or later. I have tried contacting Topaz but haven't heard back yet. I've spent hours trying to get this to work - wouldn't have purchased the program if I had known there would be a problem. Obviously I'm no computer geek and totally in the dark as what to do now.
